our grand south tour(planning)

it was the 2006 summer... april i think it was.... when we had this bright idea of a south tour. to be sure it was not a very new one.....my husband always planned summer tours,and we were planning to go to bangalore every summer without fail for the past five years.something or other always turned up every time and last year we changed madurai for bangalore thinking it was becoming jinxed.but in the end even madurai trip was jinxed too ,my sister had to drop out on account of her sons exams...,anothr sister had to come back earlier than planned,...i my self was not too keen on a mid summer trip(anasuya was recovering from her encephalitis attack..doc has cautioned us to see that she did not get high fevers.)

so this time we thought we will go ourselves and all the three of us had a council of war like meeting....i had great misgivings of summer tour as usual and expressed them qiute vocally.last year madurai was recording 46 n 47 centigrade consistently,i told them,what r we going to do in that heat?....my husband offered to hire an a c car.but i was not convinced.a c cars can do do just that much.also in t n they dont open their temples during mid day ,the time one can usually use up for visiting.we had an idea of making madurai as a base camp to cover nearby places.my husband and daughter sent baleful looks at my objections and both of them had some objectionable things to say about what they considered as my comfort mongering.

then we had another hitch.my brother in law s daughter was then staying at madurai ,she was inviting us every year to visit herand my husband said we would stay with her. on my part i heard of water problems of t n and was afraid we might be causing yasoda trouble if we stayed with her.my husband cleared this problem immediately by calling up yasoda,who said this summer was no problem since tamilnad has got unprecedented good rains that year and we are more than welcome to stay with her,since her two daughters r coming in for holidays as well and anasuya would get good company too.
so it was all decided,..we were booked on madras express n then on vaigai to and fro .on 15 th of mid may .
